October’s Urn - A

$65.00

An autumnal reliquary, changing leaves frozen in time. For about one week in October, the maple tree produces just about every color I can imagine a tree making. These pieces seek to capture that fleeting kaleidoscopic abundance. The familiar arc form is inverted to create a vessel, visually signifying a shift in season to a time of harvest, gathering, storing up. The cast forms were hand carved and rounded to create a slight magnifying effect and to give light some interesting angles to shine through. Preserved maple leaf cast with gold ink, gold plated paper clip chain, hammered brass, 26k gold plated fishhook style ear wires.
